Using Mathematics in Writing

June 26 @ 12:00 am - 1:30 am UTC

“Maths tells us how the world works in the language of solvable problems.”

  1. General Discussion on intertwining maths and stories; Discussing various ways of adding maths to your stories; Discussing how maths isn’t just numbers, but solvable problems (thus the concepts are used throughout storytelling).
  2. My Journey – How my journey in writing a ‘math quest’ adventure story for year 9/10 high school students is going (how I got there, my inspiration, motivation and my progress – I am a math tutor and write fantasy, so I decided to put the two together).
  3. Your Turn – Writing exercise / challenges on adding a mathematical twist or riddle into a piece of writing, or just coming up with math inspired challenges for an adventure (via Google Docs). *feel free to bring a math joke or two* [I might be imaginary, but making the complex look simple is a great job]
